Acerca del Curso
Learn mobile application development on the Android platform by acquiring strong knowledge of Android SDK and different versions of Android. You will gain familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services and will practice with Genymotion emulator.
As a part of this course, you will create widgets, customize list views and create 5 applications using Facebook, Twitter, maps & location based services. You will test Android-based mobile applications using Android testing tools such as Mockito.
This Android course is taught by a group of Google Developer Experts and other industry professionals, who develop innovative mobile apps .
This course is part of the GalileoX Android Developer MicroMasters that is specifically designed to teach the critical skills needed to be successful in this exciting field and to prepare you to take the Google Associate Android Developer Certification exam. In order to qualify for the MicroMasters Credential you will need to earn a Verified Certificate in each of the four courses as well as Final Project.
Skills in basic object oriented programming, especially in Java.

Adrián is an educator, tinkerer and software developer. He's been in the software engineering industry for over ten years, working as a developer (web/mobile), consultant and project manager.
At Galileo University (where he leads the Innovation Lab) Adrián is trying to empower as many people as possible in LATAM to become makers. He started Engineering Kickstart – a program for high schoolers to get started in coding and basic electronics; let them connect with mentors; and make them cross the line from users to makers.
Adrián is also the co-organiser of several local meetups like GDG Guatemala, JS.gt and NodeBots Guatemala; has been involved in the tech community for over eight years; and spoken at several events in the US and Latin America with more than 20 talks each year about mobile, web, robots, entrepreneurship and innovation. He is the co-organiser of local conferences and events like FIT (Innovation and Technology Forum), TEDxUFM and Startup Weekend Guatemala.
The course is designed with a dynamic methodology. You will learn through instructional videos, support materials, reference texts, forums and mass activities within the platform.
Every week you will have assignments to perform and deliver, also have the opportunity to evaluate the work of other students. This kind of activities reinforce the learning content and build knowledge.
Throughout the course, a virtual tutor will be in constant communication by sending instructions, ads and responding to different concerns or questions that arise.
